Caress - a simple amplitude donor
Caress is the result of an obsession: what if I could donate one sound's amplitude envelope to another sound? Easy and intuitive, and with a minimalistic design, Caress is a powerful device that will let you explore new sonic possibilities.
Using Caress is very easy: drag an instance of the device into an audio or MIDI track in Live and give it an input signal, that you will choose in the 'Ext. In' section. The yellow trace at the bottom of Caress will inform you about the waveform of the external audio source. You can amplify the input signal with the 'In. Gain' knob, and even smooth it with the 'Smooth' knob. Play the content of the track hosting Caress: as the audio signal is playing, Caress will modulate its amplitude according to the amplitude of the External Input signal.
Tip: use Caress with a microphone as the External Input, and use your voice to modulate the amplitude of a noise signal (i.e. Live's Analog device).
Have fun with it!
